Funeral services for Lanny R. Kay, 58, Wheatland, were held Oct. 25, 1997 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, with the Rev. William Kanne officiating. Sandra Horman was the organist and Joel Paulsen sang. Pallbearers were Joe Mente, Galen Conrad, Harlan Pruess, Derald Doerscher, Dean Gannon and Rodney Boock. Burial, with graveside military rites, was in St. Paul's cemetery, Wheatland.

Mr. Kay died Oct. 23 at his home in Wheatland, following a long illness.

The son of Ralph and Irma Keppy Kay, he was born Feb. 18, 1939 in Davenport. He married JoAnn Pietzonka on Sept. 3, 1960 in Davenport.

Mr. Kay farmed and was the owner and operator of Kay Farms Elevator in Wheatland.

He had served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Wheatland Lions.

Mr. Kay is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Randy and wife Kim, Wheatland; and Ricky and wife Brenda, New Liberty; his father and stepmother, Ralph and Dorothea Kay, Davenport; a sister, Virginia Telsrow, Davenport; 2 brothers, Dennis, Davenport; and Arlan, Oregon, Wis.; and 4 grandchildren, Nicolette, Jason, Justin and Dustin Kay.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a grandson.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Wheatland Community Hall.
