Memorial services for Wayne F. Carroll, 85, Wheatland, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, with the Rev. Vincent Carroll and Rev. William Kanne officiating. August Knoll is the organist. Burial will be in the Pine Hill cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Carroll died July 13 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home, following a long illness.

The son of Frank and Lurena West Carroll, he was born Jan. 26, 1912 in Fairbank. He married Lorraine Witte on July 23, 1939 in Wheatland.

Mr. Carroll was a former buttermaker, farmer and laborer.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland and he was a former Wheatland fireman.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Rev. Dr. Vincent, Manchester, Mich.; Col. Lynn, U.S.A.F., Gilbert, Ariz.; and Clayton, Baxter; a sister, Naomi Hanson, Orange City, Calif.; and 3 grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
