Funeral services for Kathleen A. Patterson, 62, Wheatland, were held June 28, 1997 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, with the Rev. William Kanne officiating, Rita Hart the cantor and the St. Paul's church choir sang. Pallbearers were David Daehn, Brent Blake, David Boeckmann, Joe Mente, Roger VanDeWalle and Lon Zeller. Burial was in St. Paul's church cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson died June 25 at University hospitals in Iowa City, following an auto accident June 5 in Wheatland.

The daughter of Cedric and Ruth Zeller Van Kirk, she was born Aug. 30, 1934 in Clinton county. She married Jerome Patterson on Dec. 30, 1951 in Wheatland. He died May 22, 1985.

Mrs. Patterson had been the church secretary for St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland for over 20 years.

She was a member of the church and choir, the Valley Quilters Guild and the Wheatland library board. She enjoyed sports and quilting.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by 2 daughters, Ann Mulvihill, Long Grove and Susan Gilliam, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a son, David, Des Moines; 5 grandchildren; her mother in Wheatland, and her mother-in-law, Anna Patterson, Wheatland. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.
