Graveside services for Wallace H. Petersen, 77, Wheatland, were held Jan. 7, 1997 at Pine Hill cemetery, Wheatland, with the Rev. William Kanne officiating. Pallbearers were Rusty, Zachery and Dennis Timmerman, and Wilbert Hass.

Mr. Petersen died Jan. 5 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home, following a long illness.

The son of Walter and Bertha Hamdorf Petersen, he was born Oct 14, 1919 in Wheatland. He married Vivian Schroeder Nov. 25, 1943 in Davenport.

Mr. Petersen was a farmer. He enjoyed horseshoes, fishing and bowling.

He is survived by his wife and a sister, Marvel Blackman, Wheatland. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Harriet Timmerman.
