Funeral services for Vernetta C. Soenksen, 81, Clinton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 1996 at St. Boniface Catholic church in Clinton, with burial in Clinton Lawn cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 at the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Soenksen died Dec. 21 at Samaritan Hospital North in Clinton.

Vernetta Thielen was born Jan. 1, 1915 in Clinton. She married August Soenksen in 1941 in Clinton. He died in 1974.

She worked for many years at Erickson Center and the Clinton Park Board, with preschool and ceramics.

Mrs. Soenksen is survived by a daughter, Bette Dean, Broomfield, Colo.; 4 sons, John, Tipton; Dale, Clinton; Roger, Harrisonburg, Va.; and David, Dubuque, 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
