Mrs. Geo. A. Griswold died at her home near Almont, Sunday, at the age of 70 years. But few people are better known throughout this section of the country than Mrs. Griswold. She with her estimable husband have been residents of Clinton county for the past 48 years. Two children together with her husband are left to mourn.
Mary C. Cook was born in St. Thomas, Canada, Jan. 6th, 1828, coming with her parents to Elwood, Ia., in 1848. In May 1860 she was married to Geo. A. Griswold, pioneer resident of Clinton county and president of the territorial pioneers.
The funeral was held from the house at 2 p.m. Wednesday with burial in the Almont cemetery.
