A terrible tragedy occurred at Osceola about 3 o'clock Sunday morning that will probably result in the death of MRS. LOWE. "DUTCH" LOWE while in an intoxicated condition, went home at the hour named and forced an entrance to the house by breaking in a window. He attacked his wife with a razor and cut her several times. Physicians took twenty-four stitches to sew up the cuts inflicted by the infuriated husband. Family trouble provoked the assault, MRS. LOWE having sued for a divorce. When LOWE entered his home and attacked his wife with a razor, she resisted. Her screams attracted a young man named Metcalf, who chanced to be passing and he entered the house but was driven off by the murderous man. Metcalf hurried to town and notified the night watchman, but when that officer reached the scene all was quiet. Metcalf tried to arouse the neighbors but failed. When the night watchman entered, the woman had made her escape to the yard and LOWE was lying on the floor with his children lying on either arm. He had tried to end his own existence by cutting his throat but did not inflict a fatal wound. It is thought MRS. LOWE will die. LOWE is in jail. The attempted murder and suicide created much excitement.
