Harold M. Johnson, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 13, 2000, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Private memorial services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2000. Graveside services will be held at a Cherokee Cemetery at a later date.

He was born April 20, 1918, in Cherokee, Iowa to Gustaf and Caroline A. Johnson. He married Frances Shove. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was employed as a plumber.

Survivors include two sons: Victor Johnson of Lansing, Kansas and Peter Johnson and his wife Maria of Center Point; two daughters: Kelly Johnson of Center Point and Sarah Olson and her husband David of Portland, Oregon; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Victor Johnson and Clarence Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances and three sisters. (Source: Former Cherokee County Historical Society scrapbook. Hand dated 3-17-2000)
