Ethelyn M. Jobe, 97, of Onawa and former long time Cherokee resident, died Monday, September 15, 2003, at 3:15 a.m. in the Elmwood Care Center in Onawa.

Graveside services are Wednesday, September 17 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta. There was no visitation.

Ethelyn was born April 7, 1906, at Aurelia to David and Nettie (Moffit) Holmes. She had lived in Onawa since 1992, prior to this in Cherokee for many years. She cleaned houses for many families in Cherokee. She enjoyed raising flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Betty Jobe.

She is survived by one daughter Maxine Carnaham of Cherokee; six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren and one sister, Mildred Circlehart of Fort Dodge. (Source Former Cherokee County Historical Society scrapbook. hand dated 9-17-2003)
