Louis O’Neal died Wednesday forenoon at 11 o’clock. The public was prepared for the announcement, as it was known for several days before that his life was hanging by a thread, and that the end might be looked for at any moment. He was a victim of consumption. For more than a year the insidious disease had been doing its deadly work in defiance of everything which could be done to arrest its progress. He made a brave fight against the disease when its nature was first suspected. He made a trip to Colorado for the purpose of testing the effect of a climate which is reputed to have given health and strength to others afflicted in a similar manner, and later went to the Ozark mountains in norther Arkansas with the same object in view.
