Funeral services for Bethany L. Ervin, 71, Wilton, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 30 at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton, with the Rev. Bruce Giese officiating. Deb Mohr is the organist and pallbearers are John, Larry and Scott Ervin, Vernon Walton, Jay Brammeier and Jeff Rasmussen. Burial was in the Sharon cemetery, Wilton.
Mrs. Ervin died April 27 at her home in Wilton.
The daughter of Joseph and Freida Martens Bowman, she was born Oct. 30, 1925 in West Liberty. She married John A. Ervin Sept. 22, 1946 in Wilton.
Mrs. Ervin was employed in data entry at CDS in Wilton, retiring in 1988.
She loved to work crossword puzzles and read newspapers. She enjoyed the Durant Polka Fest and playing bingo. She was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Ervin is survived by her husband; 3 sons, John and wife Janet Ervin, West Liberty; Larry Ervin, Eldridge; and Scott and wife Lisa Ervin, Bettendorf; a sister, Carrie (Mrs. Richard) Wessel, Coal Valley, Ill.; 2 brothers, Marion Bowman, Tampa, Fla.; and Kenneth Bowman, Davenport; and 4 grandchildren, Stacy, Katie, Casey and Ashley Ervin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Thelma "Jean" Croissant.
