Funeral services for Victor Melvin Kephart, 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24 at the United Methodist church, Wilton. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lacock-Bentley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Lance and Lee Kephart, Tom and Ted Timmsen, Tim Anderson and Ronnie Erickson. Honorary bearers are Michael Kephart and Bobbie Timmsen.

Mr. Kephart died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City April 22.

The son of William and Ella Stermer Kephart, he was born at Durant April 23, 1913. He married Ruth Erickson at Muscatine Dec. 12, 1936.

He worked at the Wilton Milk Product Cheese factory for 10 years and was a farmer in the Wilton area for 47 years. He served on the Wilton Community school board for 6 years, 4 years as president. He was a member of the South Bethel church.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons and a daughter, Jerald and Alice Kephart, Lake Wales, Fla.; Larry and Sandy Kephart, Wilton; Rex and Kathy Kephart, Wilton and Mrs. Philip (Trish) Knight, Jackson, MI., 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, a half-sister and a half-brother.

A memorial has been established.
