Funeral services for Jessie Marie Thomas Worrall, 97, West Branch, were held April 22, 1997 at the West Branch United Methodist church, with the Rev. Richard Paulus officiating. Mrs. Shirley Sondergard was the organist and pallbearers were Greg Ellyson, Steve Hunter, Jaro Hora, Steve Nash, Kenneth Thomas and Kenneth Fawcett. Burial was in the Pee Dee cemetery.

Mrs. Worrall died April 18 at the Crestview Care and Rehabilitation Center in West Branch, following an extended illness.

The daughter of Peter J. and Martha Crozer Thomas, she was born July 29, 1899 in Cedar county. She married Charles Worrall Jan. 21, 1940.

The couple owned and operated the Ford Garage in West Branch for many years. She was later employed at University Children's hospital in Iowa City.

Mrs. Worrall was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a niece, Jean Taylor, Jamestown, Calif.; 4 nephews, Mervin Thomas, Santa Maria, Calif.; Phillip Ellyson, Sun City, Calif.; and Iral Ellyson and Ronald Ellyson, both of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1980; a brother, Mervin; and a sister, Ina Ellyson.
