Pauline Hrdlicka Versani Pruess, former Clarence resident, died March 28, 1997 at a nursing home in Phoenix, Ariz., where she had been a resident for the past 5 years.

She was born June 5, 1900. She married John Versani in 1920 at Delmont, S.D. He died in 1937. She married Alfred Pruess in 1954, while living in Clarence. He died in 1978.

Mrs. Pruess moved from Clarence to Omaha, Neb. in 1985 to be with her daughter and family. In 1992 she moved with her daughter and family to the Phoenix, Ariz. area.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Vern Smith, and a grandson, Greg Smith.
