Funeral services for Dorothy P. Doyle, 73, West Branch, were held March 24, 1997 at Barker Funeral Home in West Branch, with the Rev. Richard Paulus officiating. Graveside services were held March 26 at Burlington Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Doyle died March 22 at St. Anthony's hospital in Carroll.

The daughter of Lloyd and Sally Lucille Penn Barker, she was born April 16, 1923. She graduated from Burlington high school in 1941. She married Donald W. Doyle June 22, 1944 in Burlington.

Mrs. Doyle was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Burlington, retiring in 1972.

In 1980 she moved to West Branch.

She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church, the United Methodist Women and the Klatter Klub in West Branch.

Mrs. Doyle is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ferner and husband, Bill, Carroll; 2 sons, Mike, Danville; and Mark, Burlington; 2 brothers, Gilbert Barker, West Branch and Kenneth Barker and wife Verla, Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Lisle.

Memorials may be made to the West Branch United Methodist church.
