Funeral services for Sharon L. Miller, 64, Stanwood, were held March 28, 1997 at the Stanwood Union church, with the Rev. William Harnish officiating. Mrs. Wayne Brown was the organist and the Tri-Tones sang. Pallbearers were Steve Rebik, Randy Carpenter, Skip Nielsen, Craig Dawson, Roger Will and Donald Kruse. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died March 24 at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., following a long series of illnesses.

The daughter of William and Geneva Wegner Steil, she was born Jan. 28, 1933 in Algona. She married LeRoy Miller Feb. 5, 1959 at the Little Brown church in Nashua.

Mrs. Miller served on the board of directors of the Stanwood ambulance and the Child Abuse Council. She was a Civil Defense representative for several years. She was also an election judge, piano teacher, a 4-H judge, a political party representative, and a Sunday school teacher at the Stanwood Methodist (Union) church for approximately 15 years.

She enjoyed working with all types of arts and crafts.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Debra Farrington, Mechanicsville; and Ann Miller Meyer, Stanwood; 3 grandchildren, Eric and Erin Elizabeth Farrington; and Jennifer Miller Meyer; 2 sisters, Judith Carpenter, Tucson, Ariz.; and Joan Barnes, Dysart; a half-sister, Mary Lou Taylor, Creston; and a half-brother, James Steil, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Connie Jo.
