Funeral services for Leona D. Wulf, 89, Durant, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Wilton, with Father Ted Lawson officiating. William Tinker is the organist and Henry Bentley will sing. Pallbearers are Bruce and Mary Kay Thede, Brian and Michelle Thede; Brad and Terri Thede; Randy and Polly Guerink, John and Michelle Geurink; and Nancy Geurink and Scott Welch. Burial will be in the Durant cemetery.
Mrs. Wulf died March 22 at Davenport Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.
The daughter of Louis and Laura Siems Kook, she was born Oct. 31, 1907 in Muscatine county. She married Alphonso Geurink Oct. 6, 1926 in Wilton. He died in 1930. She married Gilbert Wulf May 18, 1935 in Wilton. He died in 1983.
Mrs. Wulf was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church in Wilton and the Altar and Rosary Society. She is also a member of the Durant Senior Citizens and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved flowers, playing cards and her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Larry) Thede, Bloomington, Ill.; 2 sons, Bernard and Sally Geurink; and Leroy Geurink, all of Durant; 6 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents and a brother, Leroy Kook.
Memorials may be made to the Durant ambulance and St. Mary's Catholic church.
