Birthday: Streets turning 101
Ruby Streets was born Sept. 9, 1909, to Frank and Mae Reeder, who are now deceased. She will mark her 101st birthday on Sept. 9, 2010.

A birthday party has been scheduled for Sept. 12, 2010, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Beranek Park, West Branch. Friends and family are asked to stop by, share birthday wishes and enjoy cake and punch.

On Feb. 23, 1939, she married Clarence Streets, who died July 2, 1966.

Mrs. Streets was born and reared and lived in the Cedar County area all her life.

She was a school teacher in a one-room schoolhouse reached by mud roads and is the only surviving teacher in her graduating class.

Mrs. Streets has three son: Larry and significant other Jeanne Claeys, Robert and wife Karen, and Russell and significant other Frances Boline; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
