Shirley Tye Dies in California

Mrs. Shirley Tye, 59, of Highland, Calif., died Saturday at her home.

The daughter of Dick and Vera Phillips Woodward of Griswold, she was born May 27, 1920, and married Herbert Tye in November, 1941, at Maryville, Mo.

The couple had been residents of San Bernardino, Calif. area since 1965. Mrs Tye was a member of the Retired Officers' Wives Club and the Lutheran church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Judith) Post of Redondo Beach, Calif., Mrs. Jennifer Burns of San Clemente, Calif., and Mrs. David (Jane) Griffin of San Bernardino, Calif.; a son Steven of Fullerton, Calif.; nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Woodward of Griswold; and a sister, Mrs. Ross (Carol) Stennett of George Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Alberta Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.,. Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Griswold, with Pastor Dan Mixdorf of the Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Whipple Cemetery near Griswold. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday evening.
