DEATH - Through the kindness of Mr. A.M. Haines, of Galena, we have a copy of the 'Daily Gazette', 28th ult., containing following announcement of the death of a son of a former citizen of this locality, Peter Marsden, now a resident of Red Cloud, Neb.:

By a telegram received from Lincoln, Neb., last night, we learn of the sudden, although not unexpected death of Franklin Peter Marsden, eldest son of Peter Marsden, Esq., for many years a resident of Galena. The deceased was about 30 years of age, and was a native of this city in which he grew to manhood. He was widely known in this community and greatly esteemed for his many noble qualities. He removed to Nebraska about three years ago, and engaged in farming on a large scale, in close proximity to the city of Lincoln. He was an energetic and industrious young man, and his untimely death will be greatly deplored by the many friends he had called around him. The remains will be interred in the cemetery at Lincoln.
