In Nurses Corps

Two Waterloo girls have been appointed second lieutenants in the army nurse corps and will report for duty at Camp Carson, Colo., this month to begin army training, it was announced Monday.

Commissioned are Miss Jeanne Elizabeth Wood a, daughter of Mrs. Hazel Wood, 729 Vinton street, who received her nurses' training at St. Francis hospital in Freeport, Ill., and Miss Violet Ruth Holdiman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence R. Holdiman, 209 River Forest road, who was graduated valedictorian of a class of 19 cadet nurse from St Luke's Methodist hospital at Cedar Rapids.

Lt. Jeanne Wood of the army nurse corps, has been transferred from Camp Carson, Colo. to Ft Leonard Wood, Mo, according to word received by her mother, Mrs. Hazel Wood, 720 Vincent street. Lieutenant Wood's brother, Berwyn Wood, has recently been promoted from machinist mate second class to machinist mate first class in the Pacific.
