Maj. Ardeth J. Wick

 

 

 

Ardeth J. Wick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Wick, 836 Western avenue, was recently promoted from first lieutenant to captain in the medical corps of the army. She is a hospital dietitian stationed at Camp Howze, Tex.

A graduate of West high and Iowa State college, Captain Wick entered service in March 1943, before which she was state supervisor of the federal dietary program in Illinois.

MAJ. ARDETH J. WICK

Funeral services are being planned for Tuesday at the Parrott & Wood Chapel for Major Ardeth J. Wick, 52, formerly of Waterloo, who died Thursday at the martin Army Hospital at Fort Benning, Ga., of a stroke.

Ardeth Jeanette Wick was born in New Hartford, on July 19, 1912, the daughter of Dallis and Adah S. Wick. She attended Waterloo school and was graduate from West High school in 1929. She was graduated from Iowa State University in 1934.

After graduation she was a dietitian in Nebraska and Illinois. She was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant on March, 1943 in the Women's Medical Specialist Corps as a dietitian and later achieved the rank of major. She was stationed a Martin Army hospital at the time of her death.
