Mary Elizabeth Watkins

 

 

 

Twenty Des Moines women were graduated Saturday from the Navy’s general indoctrination school for WAVES at Iowa State Teachers college, Cedar Falls, Ia.

Some of the graduates will be sent to one of the 13 schools in the nation now being used by the WAVES for advanced training. Others may be immediately assigned to active duty where qualified for such service.

Des Moines in the Services

Mary Elizabeth Watkins, yeoman third class, in the WAVES, has reported to the naval air station, Glenview, Ill., and has been assigned duty in the assembly and repair shop.

Miss Watkins is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Franklin Watkins of 832 Thirtieth st. She was employed by the United States Rubber Co. here before entering the service.

Mary Watkins, Don Richardson Exchange Vows

Miss Mary Elizabeth Watkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Watkins, 932 Thirteenth st., became the bride of Don Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Richardson, 739 Thirty-ninth st., at 9 p.m. Dec 20 at First Baptist church.
