Elmer David Vanderpluym was born Aug. 25, 1918 to Albert H. and Hazel B. Dewey Vanderpluym. He died Apr. 22, 2014 and is buried in Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, IA.
Elmer served in World War II with the U.S. Army. His wife, Velma Darlene “Darlene" Turnbull Vanderpluym also served in World War II with the U.S. Army WACs. Darlene was born Mar. 15, 1923 and died Jan. 11, 2014.
