Cpl. Maxine Taylor

 

LEAVES END -- Corp. Louise A. Minnick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Minnick, 114 Brown street, and Corp. Maxine Taylor, daughter of Mrs. Kenneth Chrysler, 111 1/2 West Fourth street, have returned to their posts in North Carolina after enjoying 15-day leaves in Davenport. The two young women enlisted together in March 1943, and received boot training at Hunter college in New York. Corp. Minnick attended a radio school in Oxford, O., and is now stationed as an aerial gunnery instructor at Cherry Point, N.C. She is a graduate of the Davenport highs school and was formerly employed at the F.W. Woolworth Co. Corp. Taylor is serving as a receiving clerk in the supply depot at Camp Lejeune, N.C. She is also a graduate of the local high school, attended the American Institute of Commerce and is a former employee of the Rock Island arsenal.
