Miss Helen Rothmeyer Newest WAVE Enlistee

Miss Helen Lenore Rothmeyer, 2505 Grand avenue, has been sworn into the WAVES and is now awaiting orders to report at Hunter college in New York to start her preliminary training.

Miss Rothmeyer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rothmeyer of Monona, Ia. She is a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph academy at Elkader, Ia., and since leaving school, Miss Rothmeyer has been engaged as a teacher at Elkader.

Miss Rothmeyer came to Davenport at the close of the school terms and established residence so she would be able to enlist in the WAVES through the Davenport office.

WAVE of the Day

Miss Helen Rothmeyer, yeoman, third class, formerly of Davenport, is spending several days' leave at her home in Minona, Ia. Before returning to her station in Washington, D.C, she will visit her sister, Mary Rothmeyer, in Davenport.

Miss Rothmeyer, who has had a year of service in the WAVES, has been responsible for the enlistment of several Davenport girls.
