Des Moines in the Services
Two Des Moines women have received their good conduct medals at the WAC training center at Fort Des Moines. They are Sergt. Kathlyn R. Perry, 2410 High st., and Corp. Rosalie V. Benner, 3226 Indianapolis ave.

First Lieut. Raymond L. Perry, a brother, now is with the army in France.

From Mrs. R. E. Perry, in Des Moines, comes a news item telling that Sergeant Kathlyn Perry of the WAC arrived recently in Australia. A brother, First Lieutenant Ray L. Perry, is now with the army in France. Both are former residents of Greene.

Point-Discharged WACs Head Home from Manila
Heading home, these nine girls -- members of one of the first contingent of WACs to return under the point system -- stand around their duffel bags in Manila, ready to leave. Kathlyn Perry of Des Moines is sixth from the left. Anna Mae Ver Beek of Pella, Ia., is seventh from the left.

Des Moines in the Services
Kathlyn R. Perry, technician, third grade, in the WAC, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Perry, 2410 high st., has 58 points to her credit under the army service point system and is returning to the states from Manila in the Philippines. In the last year she has served in Australia, New Guinea, Leyte and Luzon.
