Ann Pearson

 

 

Twenty Des Moines women were graduated Saturday from the Navy’s general indoctrination school for WAVES at Iowa State Teachers college, Cedar Falls, Ia.

Some of the graduates will be sent to one of the 13 schools in the nation now being used by the WAVES for advanced training. Others may be immediately assigned to active duty where qualified for such service.

Ann Pearson, yeoman, second class, in the WAVES, is home on a seven-day leave visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pearson, 169 E Broad ave. Yeoman Pearson is stationed at Washington, D.C.

Ann Pearson, yeoman, second class WAVES, stationed in Washington, D.C., has concluded a 10-day leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pearson, 169 E Broad st. While here she had as her guest, June Hobson, yeoman, second class, also stationed at Washington.

Miss Ann Pearson, yeoman, first class, WAVES, models the Chinese wedding gown owned by Bill Lewis, freshman veteran, at Drake university. Miss Pearson returned Wednesday to her station in Washington, D.C. and in about two months, when she receives her discharge from service, will return to her home, 169 E. Broad st and will be enrolled at Drake university.
