Des Moines in the Services

Four Des Moines women were graduated recently form the naval training school for yeoman, at Oklahoma A & M university, Stillwater, Okla., and were given the rating of yeoman, third class. They are Edith C. Hedlund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hedlund, 2318 York st; Dorothy L. Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Smith, 2102 E. Grand ave.; F. D. Patchin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Patchin, 1835 Mondamin ave., and Jacqueline Lee Tarlton, daughter of Mrs. J. Beck, Route 1.

WAVE VISITS PARENTS

Yeoman Third Class Florence D. Patchin of the WAVES is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Patchin, 1042 Eighteenth st. She is enroute from Washington D. C., to San Francisco.

Des Moines in the Services

Florence Patchin, yeoman second class, daughter of Mrs. J.V. Patchin, 1042 Eighteenth st. recently was discharged form the WAVES at Great Lakes, Ill. Miss Patchin was in service 32 months. She served 14 months at Washington, D.C. and a year in Pearl harbor.
