Donna M. McPherson, 2606 Dean ave., has enlisted in the WAC here and will be called to active duty about Jan. 3, 1945. Her husband, Lieut. Trent McPherson, is with the army signal corps in Germany. She will be assigned to duty with the medical department following her basic training.

Lt. Trent O. McPherson, right, is being awarded the bronze star medal for heroic achievement in wiping out a German pocket of resistance while making a reconnaissance patrol for a wire route, somewhere in Germany. He is the son of Mrs. J.D. McPherson, 2400 Walnut st., and the husband of Pvt. Donna McPherson, WAC, Fort Des Moines. His father, Trent O. McPherson, sr also lives here.
