Lt. Rita D. McCarville

Army Nurse Corps

Rita D. McCarville was born Feb. 24, 1914, to James Edward and Helen Keating McCarville. She was a nurse at the Hamilton County Hospital for 6 years before joining the U. S. Army Nurse Corps. She received a commission as a second lieutenant.

She first reported to Camp Crowder in Missouri. She also served at Fort Leavenworth, KS, and Springfield, MO. She married Alphus Waldo Hall who was a Lt. Col in the U. S. Army, serving in both World War II and Korea.

Rita died May 18, 2000 in FL. Rita and her husband are both buried at Shady Rest Cemetery, Holly Hill, FL.
