Wife of Navy Man Sworn Into WAVES

Frances Beyer Kloberdanz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Beyer, 306 South Federal avenue, has been sworn into the WAVES and is awaiting her call to training.

Mrs. Kloberdanz, who husband, Jacob Peter Kloberdanz, enlisted in the navy in December, 1941, and is now serving in the Pacific area, expects to be called in July and will go to Palm Beach, Fla., for training.

Mrs. Kloberdanz has been working in the Unites States Employment service office in Decorah and will continue there until her call comes. She is a graduate of the Mason City high school.

Mrs. Kloberdanz was worn into the navy in Des Moines. WAVES are being called to active duty within a few days of their taking the oath of allegiance.

ON FURLOUGH -- Frances Kloberdanz, yeoman 3/c, has completed her training in the SPARS at Palm Beach, Fla., and is spending her leave with her parents, Mr and Mrs H.F. Beyer, 306 South Federal avenue. Mrs. Kloberdanz will be stationed in New York City where she will do stenographic work. Her husband, Jacob Peter Kloberdanz is with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.
