Qualifying for enlistment at the Cedar Rapids navy recruiting office were: Elaine Joy Nunnally, 1735 C avenue NE; Rachel Obrosk, 415 Eight street SE; Hollis Hope Schallau, Grinnell; Martha Howe, Tipton; and Betty Jean Stuart, Iowa City.

Martha Howe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Howe, who recently had been employed in Chicago, is at home awaiting call to report for training in the WAVES. Miss Howe is a graduate of Tipton high school and attended Tipton junior college.
