Pvt. Mildred B. Hicks WAC, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hicks, 4017 Eleventh st., has been transferred from Fort Des Moines to Orlando, Fla.

Mildred Hicks Becomes Bride

Mr. and Mrs. George Hicks, 4017 Eleventh st., announce the marriage of their daughter, Pfc. Mildred B. Hicks, to Pvt. I.L. Padgett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Padgett of Jacksonville, Fla., which took place in the Little Chapel headquarters of the second air forces at Colorado Springs, Colo.

Maj. A.J. Schiff, chaplain officiated and Pvt. Margaret Deland and Cpl. A. Paterson were attendants.

The bride, who is a graduate of North High school, was employed by the Rock Island railroad until Nov. 9, 1944 when she enlisted in the WAC. She is stationed at the 2nd air forces at Colorado Springs, Colo.

Private Padgett, who has been in service four and a half years, recently returned from 30 months overseas duty. He is stationed at Camp Carson, Colo.

The couple is living at 423 Vrain st., Colorado Springs.
