Beulah Hartshorn Visits in Algona

Cpl. Beulah Hartshorn was in Algona Wednesday and Thursday visiting at the home of Mrs. W.L. Jensen and calling on other friends. Beulah arrives a week ago Sunday for a fifteen day furlough with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hartshorn, at Fenton. She is in the marines and is stationed at Cherry Point, NC. where she has been in the aerology department for almost a year. Cherry Point has the largest marine corps air base in the country. Beulah was employed several years at the Marigold Beauty Shoppe in Algona.

Cpl. Beulah Hartshorn Weds

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hartshorn of Swea City have announced the marriage of their daughter, Cpl. Beulah Hartshorn, Marine Corps to Henry T. Waters of Jacksonville, Fla., on July 20th at Fernandino, Fla.

Mrs. Waters wore an aqua-colored jersey dress with black accessories. The double ring ceremony was used.

Beulah graduated from the Swea City high school. Following graduation she was employed in Algona as a beauty operator in Mrs. Edythe Dailey's Marigold Shoppe. She then went to Spencer where she owned and operated the Spencer Beauty Salon for a number of years. While there she was a prominent member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She enlisted the marine corps 2 years ago last June, and is at present stationed at the marine base at Cherry Point, S.C. Mrs. Waters is in the aerological section doing climatological work

The bridegroom has been a sergeant in the marine corps before receiving his honorable discharge from the service, and is now employed in the electrical department of the city of Jacksonville.

Mr. and Mrs. Waters will make their home in Jacksonville, Fla., when she has completed her work in the service.
