Lt. Maudetta Halden

 

 

Second Lieut. Maudetta Halden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barry F. Halden, 712 1/2 Crocker st., has been commissioned in the marine's reserve. She was a sergeant before entering officer candidate training at Camp Lejuene, N.C.

Lt. Maudetta Halden Is Chief Weather Officer

Second lieutenant Maudetta Halden of the U.S.M.C., granddaughter of Mrs. J.W. Halden, is now stationed at the Marine corp base at El Centro, Calif., according to a letter received by Mrs. Halden.

Lt. Halden is chief aerological officer at the base.

"We are only 12 miles from Mexico," she said, " and hope to see a bullfight soon. We can ride cattle wagons to the nearest town or wait for small buses. I will send you some fresh dates soon."
