Lt. Betty N. Garman

 

ARRIVES IN ENGLAND -- Mrs. C. E. Garman of Nora Springs received a cable and letters from her daughter, Lt. Betty N. Garman, of the army nurse corps, sent from somewhere in England. She finds her surroundings very pleasant.

Betty Garman Gets Promotion in Corps

Nora Springs -- Betty N. Garman, daughter of Mrs. C.E. Garman of Nora Springs, was promoted from 2nd to 1st lieutenant in the army nurses' corps on June 8. Lieutenant Garman went overseas from Camp Joseph T. Robins, Ark., in March 1944, and for the last 15 months has been on staff of the 188th General Hospital in England. She writes her mother that she has been attending an army school in England since returning from a 10 day vacation in Scotland shortly after V-E day. Lt Garman trained at St. Luke's Methodist hospital in Cedar Rapids, and took her basic training in the Army Nurse corps at Camp Carson, Colo.
