Lt. Myrtle Forbes Leaves Today for Camp Carson, Colo.

Myrtle Louise Forbes of Walnut, granddaughter of Mrs. W.J. Walden of Carroll, who has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the army nurse corps, left today for three weeks preliminary training at Camp Carson, Colo.

Lieut. Forbes is a daughter of Mrs. Jud Forbes of Walnut. Shortly after her graduation from the St Anthony School of Nursing in the fall of 1944, she signed for duty with the armed forces. She had been on private duty here the larger part of the time since becoming a registered nurse, but had been at home in Walnut for the past month. She was sworn into the service in Omaha last Tuesday.

Myrtle Louise Forbes Is Bride Of Orris J Huber; Couple to Reside in West

The marriage of Miss Myrtle Louise Forbes, daughter of Mrs. Ethel Forbes of Walnut and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Walden of Carroll, to Orris J. Huber, son of Mrs Sarah Huber of Goshen, Ind., took place in a candle light ceremony at 7 o'clock Saturday evening, September 7 at the home of the bride's mother in Walnut.

The Rev. M. A. Banker, minister of the Presbyterian church, read the single ring service.

Mrs. Huber is a graduate of Walnut high school and St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing. She served in the army nurse corps a year and a half having been in the Philippine Islands for eight months.

Mr. Huber was graduated from Goshen high school. In the armed forces for three years, he saw duty in Panama and the Aleutian Islands.

The couple will live in Oakland, Calif.
