Marjory Louise Welch Erickson

 

Miss Marjory L. Welch, Cpl. Bruce G. Erickson Wed at Red Bank, N. J.

ANNOUNCEMENT is made of the marriage of Miss Marjory L. Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Welch of Webster City, to Cpl. Bruce G. Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Erickson of Clarksburg, W. Va. The ceremony took place Sunday, July 23, at Red Bank, N. J.

The Rev. C. A. Thunn performed the service at 3 o’clock in the Red Bank Baptist church.

The bride wore a white street-length frock with matching accessories and her flowers were white gardenias.

She was graduated from Lincoln high school in this city in 1939, and later attended the University of Missouri, at Columbia. She enlisted in the WAVES in 1943 and recently received a medical discharge from the service.

Corporal Erickson is a graduate of the high school at Grafton, Ill., and was graduated also from the University of West Virginia in 1943.

He participated in R. O. T. C. while at the university and is now located at Fort Monmouth, N. J., where he is attending officers candidate school.

Mrs. Erickson is visiting here now with her parents and friends, and plans to rejoin her husband soon in New Jersey.

Marjory Louise Welch was born July 1, 1920 in Webster City, IA to Frank A. and Lillian Bateman Welch. She joined the WAVES in 1943 and was assigned to the rotogravure division and moved to the photo science laboratory at Anacostia, MD.

July 23, 1944 she married Cpl. Bruce G. Erickson at Red Bank, NJ. He was attending officers candidate school at Fort Monmouth, NJ at the time of their marriage.
