Yeoman Dorothy Eickelberg Wed to Seaman W.J. Balster

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Eickelberg, 1116 Independence avenue, are announcing today the marriage of their daughter, Dorothy, Wave yeoman third class, to William J. Balster, seaman, first class in the navy and son of William E. Balster of Alton, Ill. The ceremony was performed June 2 in the Normandy chapel at Long Beach, Cal. Attendants for the nuptial event were Miss Jean McMaster of Wilmette, Ill., yeoman third class , and Miss Dorothy Carrell of Chicago, also yeoman third class n the Waves.

Both the bride and groom are now stationed at Terminal Island, Roosevelt base, in San Pedro, Cal. Mrs. Balster attended Clarke college at Dubuque, Ia., during her freshman and sophomore years, and was a student at Grinnell Ia., college during the third year. She entered Wave training early in 1943 and was graduated from the naval training school for yeoman at Stillwater, Okla., after receiving basic training at Hunter college, N.Y.
