Glee Palmer Davis

 

 

Glee Palmer Davis Kuempel was born Nov. 13, 1921 to Glenn and Flora Belle Palmer Davis. She died May 16, 2008 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Guttenberg, IA.

Glee served in World War II with the U.S. Navy WAVES as a radio operator. She was one of the original members of the WAVES. You could find large posters in stores such as Marshall Fields with Glee’s picture on it as she was a poster girl for the Navy to encourage women to enlist in the military. She was married to Robert John “Bob” Kuempel.
