Gladys May Chapman

 

 

 

Miss Gladys Chapman, Atalissa, has been ordered to report in New York on May 3, for training in the WAVES. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Chapman of Atalissa and before enlisting was employed at the Rock Island arsenal.

WAVE Gladys May Chapman, 23, daughter of George Chapman of Atalissa, has completed her course of training and will receive the third class petty officer's rate, aviation machinist's mate, according to an announcement from the Naval Aid-Technical Training Center at Memphis, Tenn.

A graduate of the Atalissa high school, she was employed at the Rock Island arsenal before entering the services at Davenport in March of this year. She received her boot training at Hunter college, New York.
