WOMEN IN SERVICE

Rosetta Cerny, specialist-gunner third class of the WAVES, passed last week with her parents, Mr and Mrs. J.F. Cerny of Solon, Entering service a year ago, Specialist Cerny received her training at Pensacola, Fla., and now is serving as an instructor on gunnery and airplane sighting at Memphis, Tenn. A sister, Mary Elizabeth Cerny, is a pharmacists mate second class in the WAVES stationed at Oakland, Calif.

WOMEN IN SERVICE

Phm. 2/C Mary E. Cerny has returned to the U.S. naval hospital at Oakland, Calif., after a 17-day leave during which she visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Cerny, at Solon, and other relatives.

She also visited in Chicago with her sister, Rosetta Cerny, Spec. G 2/C N.A.T.T.C. who is stationed at Memphis, Tenn.

Men and Women in the Service

Miss Mary Cerny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Cerny of Solon, has been honorably separated from the navy and has returned home after 34 months service in the U.S. navy hospital in Oakland, Calif. She was with the physiotherapy department during the periods and for the last year was in charge of the department.

Her sister, Rosetta Cerny, gunnery instructor in the navy for 19 months, was also released from the service and is now attending state university. She was formally stationed at Memphis, Tenn.
