MARY FRANCES CARHART TO WED

Mr. and Mrs. Forrest F. Carhart of 727 Forty-first st., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lieutenant (j.g.), United States Naval Reserve, to Robert F. Kanze, United Sates navy, son of Mr and Mrs. Otto Kanze of Freehold, N. J. The wedding will take place September 14 at the home of the parents of the bride-elect.

Lieutenant Carhart is a graduate of Drake university where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She has been stationed in Washington D.C. for the past year and a half.

Lieutenant Kanze enlisted in the navy in 1935 and served in the South Pacific as a fighter pilot in the Fighting 2 and Fighting 10 Squadron from 1942 until August, 1944. He how is stationed with the service test unit at naval air station, Patuxent River, Md.

Mary Frances Carhart Kanze, lieutenant, junior grade, 727 Forty-first st, has been discharged at Washington, D.C. In the WAVES since Nov. 21, 1943, her last duty station was in the office of chief of naval operations at Washington.
