ARMY NURSE

Miss Mary Ethel Brown, chief dietitian at the Moline City hospital since 1934, has resigned to become an army nurse, according to announcement today by Miss Marguerite Brooks, superintendent. She will leave Monday for duty at Lawson General hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

Miss Brown is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Brown, 2114 Marquette street, Davenport. She received her B.A. degree at Clark college, Dubuque, and interned in dietetics at Michael Reese hospital, Chicago. For the past year she has served as secretary of the Tri-City Nutrition council.

Mary E. Brown Is Married to Dr. Jos. Carroll

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Brown, 2114 Marquette street, announce the marriage of their daughter, Lieut. Mary Ethel Brown to Dr. Joseph Carroll of Troy, Ala. Vows were spoke at a military wedding at 6 p.m. Saturday at the post chapel at Lawson General hospital in Atlanta, Ga., with the chaplain, Capt. Anthony Connell officiating

The bride was escorted to the altar by Major James H. Stephens. Miss Janet Brown, sister of the bride, who was recently discharged from the WAVES, was maid of honor.
