Pfc. Barbara B. Blake

 

 

Three daughters are arriving this week to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron B. Blake, 4111 Ashby ave. They are Pvt (f.c.) Barbara B. Blake of the marines, who arrived on Sunday night from Quantico, Va.; Miss Mary E. Blake, storekeeper, second class, WAVES, who arrived Tuesday night from Lake Hurst, N.J., and Mrs. Loren Parker of Iowa City, Ia., who will spend the weekend with her parents. Mrs. Blake and daughters left Wednesday for a short vacation at Lake Okoboji and will return this weekend.

Barbara Blake To Be Bride of F.S. Crawford

Miss Barbara Bradbury Blake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bradbury Blake of Douglas, Mich., formerly of Des Moines, will become the bride Thursday of Lt. Frank Steele Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.O. Crawford of Columbus, Ohio.

They will be married at 6 p.m. at the Methodist church at New Bern, N.C. and Mrs. Blake and Mr. and Mrs. Crawford will attend the wedding.

Miss Blake was graduated from Roosevelt high school and attended the State University of Iowa. She recently was discharged from the marine corps.

Lieutenant Crawford attended the University of Ohio before his enlistment in the marine corps. The couple will reside in New Bern.
