Hawkeye -- Helena Begalske, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Begalske, left Tuesday for New York City, where she will enter the WAVES. She is a graduate of the Alpha consolidated school and Wartburg college at Waverly. Since last March she has been doing social welfare work at Clinton, Ia.

Hawkeye -- Among the womens reservists now on duty at Washington, D.C., is Helene Begalske, seaman, first class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Begalske. She was sworn into the WAVES Oct. 31, 1944 and received training at Hunter college, N.Y.

Hawkeye -- Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Begalske announce the marriage of their daughter, Sgt. Helena Begalske, Washington, D.C., to Sgt.Raymond Shaefer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schaefer, Greene. The ceremony occurred Aug. 31 in Greene Lutheran Church with Rev. L.J. Deinco, past, officiating. The bride was engaged in social work at Clinton before entering service in November 1944. The groom attended Wartburg college, Waverly, and is now stationed at Kearns, Utah.
