Davenport WAVES Enjoy Home Visits

Specialist (I), third class, Aurelia Atkinson of the WAVES is enjoying a ten-day leave at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Atkinson, 1802 West Third street. She is an I.B.M. machine operator at Naval Barracks, West Potomac Park, Washington, D.C.

She enlisted in September, 1943, and received her boot training at Hunter college, N.Y. Prior to her enlistment she was employed at the Rock Island arsenal.

Miss Atkinson is one of several WAVES living in Florida hall, Arlington, Va., who spend their Sundays giving much-needed voluntary assistance to nearby farmers. She was also selected as one of 56 WAVES who, with 56 SPARS and 56 Marines, marched in the procession of the funeral of the late Secretary of Navy, Frank Knox.
