MISS BETTY WINN GOES TO CHICAGO

Miss Betty Winn, 1850 E avenue NE went to Chicago Monday morning. She has accepted a position as assistant director of the USO club in North Chicago for the Great Lakes Naval Training station.

Miss Betty Winn Joins Red Cross

Miss Betty Winn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Winn, 1650 E avenue NE, has joined the American Red Cross and will report July 24 n Washington, D.C for a two weeks training course before leaving for overseas duty.

A graduate of Coe college, Miss Winn is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She has been doing USO work in North Chicago for the past two yeas. She taught school in Davenport for one year before going into USA work.

Miss Betty Winn To Become Bride

Mr. and Mrs. James P. Winn, 356 Eighteenth street SE, announce the engagement of their daughter, Betty Gray Winn, to Elliott Wilford Reed of Minneapolis, son of the Martin Reeds of Cloquet, Minn. The wedding will take place Aug. 18 in the St John's Episcopal church.

The bride-elect formerly served with the Red Cross overseas and now is a stewardess for the Northwest Airlines in St. Paul. Her fiancé is an engineer with the Northwest Airlines.
