Leland Lemke Zimmerman was born Dec. 23, 1919 to Victor and Amelia Lemke Zimmerman. He died Mar. 17, 1997 in FL.

Lt. Zimmerman served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II with the 398th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force in the European Theater of Operations as the pilot of a B-17 Flying Fortress. He was awarded the Air Medal.
